SIMPLE MEDITATION

 

THE MAGIC SILENCE METHOD

This method uses a combination of an affirmation and a mantra, in coordination with a breathing pattern and internal and/or external sound. In order to fully succeed with this affirmation/mantra, we need the power of the words and must take hold of the breath and create a breathing pattern that arouses the soul.

It works like this:

ONE
The phrase is "Be STILL and Know GOD"
While inhaling slowly feel the words Be STILL
(if you wish you may pause for a moment of time here -- whatever is comfortable)
then exhale slowly

TWO
Inhale again slowly feeling the words "and Know GOD"
(if you wish you may pause for a moment of time here -- whatever is comfortable)
then exhale slowly

THREE
At the end of "and Know GOD" take the next breath in and add the sound "OM" (sounds like om in home) upon exhaling. (This sound can be out loud or imagined. True chanting is an inner sounding, not an outer singing.) Do this three times. Let the sound resonate first from the abdominal cavity, rising to the heart area and then into the head. Let the sound carry you deeper.

FOUR
Now breath in and out completely at a rate that keeps your breath relaxed and under your control.

If you are feeling a "oneness", a "focus", the "stillness" (in number four) without distractions then stay in this consciousness just breathing in and out. If you notice you are distracted by thoughts go back to the Be STILL and Know GOD cycle (one two and three) followed by four. It is the silent stillness periods between the phrases that are most important. The phrases gather and direct the consciousness but the spaces of silence are the golden magical spaces. As long as you are silent and still, stay in that state. When you are distracted or restless repeat one two three and four.

You do not have to "do" or "hear" anything when in meditation. The silence is the magic.
