INTRODUCTION TO THIS GROUP BY RICK RANUM

Why is it we believe money will make us happy?  Is it the media bombarding us with people acquiring goods and their most happy faces and families.  I think about that fabulous car crossing the desert with moving music.  Just handsome happy me with my beautiful woman her hair flowing in the breeze.  Contented smiles on our faces as if we just experienced the satisfaction we considered impossible.  Maybe this has something to do with our societal focus on the material.  Maybe money will protect us and insulate us from our ultimate core fear -- death.  With lots of money we can somehow escape lack, disease, loneliness, and emptiness.   "Fear is the root of most of the ills of mankind, whether of self, or of what others think of self, or what self will appear to others".

Recently I read a book called Thrive by Dan Buettner. It made a rather complete study of data acquired through survey research.  It found four population groups that consider themselves happier than all the rest.  Each population group had similarities and dissimilarities.  The most important thing to note at this moment is this: it was not money that made them happy. Read more.

Yes you say, but isn't this a group about economic healing?  Isn't this about creating abundance? Yes it is.  And, it is important to know that creating the money you need is not about investment strategies, it is not about a particular job, it is not about marketing, it is not about image boards.  It is about core aspects of your inner life, and your outer life.  We work on changing things about us and our lives that bring happiness and fulfillment, and then the money flows.  IF, that is what we really desire.

Maybe you have all the flow of resources you need, and you are living a life of service, and the joy is flowing from you like a mighty river.  Then this group would be a great place for you to be of service in helping others to become as fulfilled as you.

For myself, I have often said that if I could create bread from thin air, I would open a bakery and stop in each morning to fill the shelves. Then I would do whatever I wanted all day long.  I have also said that if I could create bread from thin air I might begin walking east, just to make the journey.  (Walking west would assume the ability to walk on water and really there is not much to see until you reach some island.)  Maybe I would just plant some seeds. The point I am making is this: maybe you or I really want an experience, or experiences, not money.  These experiences might be worth more to us than all the money.

I can think of several past experiences I could not give up for any amount of money.    I would not be me anymore.  What I could be might not measure up to what I am now.  When you think about it, you have to wonder if changing anything in your past would have really been for the better.  For who would you be now?  What would you have become?

If there is to be peace in the world,
There must be peace in the nations.
If there is to be peace in the nations,
There must be peace in the cities.
If there is to be peace in the cities,
There must be peace between neighbors.
If there is to be peace between neighbors,
There must be peace in the home.
If there is to be peace in the home,
There must be peace in the heart.

P.S.
Are you curious as to why I have started this group?  Think of a time you chose to do something for someone or some others. Remember how that felt deep in your being? Now you know one reason. Number two is a desire to modify my relationship with success and money at this time.  Reason number three is a bit more complicated because it has to do with the sixty prior years of my life and especially the last five.

A year ago I had a near death experience.  I hovered at a portal knowing I could step through or not.  After nearly an hour I decided there were things unfinished for me to do here.  And, here I am. In the course of that year many things have been changing in my life and most I feel are good.

I have a challenging occupation as a web developer. I'm a partner in a company my wife Janice and I created, thedesignedge.com.  I am now also doing a passion I have had since the early nineties. This passion is hypnotherapy.  I am doing this as a certified and licensed hypnotherapist   olympichypnotherapy.com.  If you wish to send me a thought or energy to aid me in being of service I accept.

Where does the information, the theory, the practice, of this come from?  It comes primarily from an orientation distilled from the Edgar Cayce readings.  However, though most of the information comes from the Cayce material,  these concepts are universal.
